American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) has reported favorable results from its drill program at the Overton Mountain area in the Halleck Creek rare earths project located in Wyoming.
CEO Donald Swartz told Proactive the goal of the program is supporting the company to update its JORC resource estimate for the project in January.
He spoke about the results from eight drill holes from the 23-hole program.
“The prior JORC resource that we issued back in March was right around 3,300 parts per million [total rare earth oxides] and the results this time have come back about 35% higher at 4,500 parts per million,” he said.
“We’re very encouraged with the grade.”
The CEO added that the company was trying to illustrate that the deposit remains open at depth.
“We drilled a drill hole to three over 300 meters in depth, the prior was maxed out around 150 meters. So we’ve more than doubled the depth of mineralization. We proved that it’s a lot deeper,” he said.
Swartz said assay results from the next 15 holes in the program are being processed, with an announcement about the results to come in the near future.
“We’re certainly pushing down before Christmas and we’re hopeful we’ll have those in the next few weeks,” he said.
