Proactive: American Rare Earths set new course for the company as Donald Swartz takes over as CEO
American Rare Earths President, North America Mel Sanderson joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the appointment of Donald S. Swartz II as its Chief Executive Officer. Swartz brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the domestic and international resource sector. With a strong background in the mining industry, he has successfully developed and executed strategies that led to significant revenue growth and created new business opportunities.
Sanderson told Proactive that before joining American Rare Earths, Swartz served as Senior Vice President for Vista Energy Holdings, where he played a key role in developing two mining projects, both of which are now fully operational in Alberta and Nova Scotia, Canada. He has also held various leadership positions with Westmoreland Coal Company (NASDAQ:WLB), including Chief Commercial Officer, Senior Vice President of Commercial, Sales and Marketing, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Vice President of Business Development. The company is focusing on building its presence in the United States and has selected Denver, Colorado, as its new corporate headquarters due to its proximity to its flagship operation in Halleck Creek, Wyoming. With Swartz at the helm, American Rare Earths aims to continue its growth trajectory and capitalize on the opportunities in the mining industry. The company has also announced they have staked 37 federal claims at a new high-grade rare earth deposit in Wyoming. The new area is north of the Company’s flagship Halleck Creek Project and has very similar geological characteristics.
